HOW SALO® STARTED

Salo started out of something pretty simple... we really just wanted good coffee for everyone at home.

It was pandemic times, and armed with an espresso machine and way too much free time, Chesca started experimenting. Her family kept asking for more, and somewhere between the refills and the requests, the idea of turning it into something real started brewing.

What made it click was that Chesca had been here before - not in her kitchen, but on the farms. Her previous work brought her to coffee farms across the country, and she saw firsthand how much heart local farmers pour into every harvest.

She wanted to do something with that. To build something that didn't just make great coffee, but actually gave back to the people growing it.

The only problem? She had the coffee, but not quite the business know-how.

That's where Lia came in, her best friend with a background in business who, funny enough, didn't even drink coffee. Like, at all.

So yes, one of them knew the farms, and the other knew the numbers. Between the two of them, Salo actually had a shot. But that's the thing about Salo. It has a way of converting people - Lia included :)

So here we are: two best friends who grew up on the same street, now building something they're really proud of together.

We source our 100% Arabica beans from local farmers in Benguet & Bukidnon because we genuinely care about what goes into every bottle.

Because good coffee should be convenient, it should bring people together, and it should mean something.

We're still learning, still growing, and honestly still figuring things out as we go. But we're glad you're here for it.

Salo is simply.. Coffee, Uncomplicated.

Yup, cold brew's a good idea.
